SOLARPLUS EXCLUSIVE
Create highly personalised, data-driven proposals that showcase the full value of solar and energy storage solutions.
With advanced features like EV smart charging, load shifting, and hot water diverters, the Smart Energy Simulator will give your customers accurate, actionable insights that drive customer confidence and close more deals.
Model and demonstrate the financial and environmental benefits of smart EV chargers
Dynamic EV charging from excess solar is game-changer in many situations, but not all. SolarPlus can calculate the energy supplies and demands for a particular client so you can design the optimal solution.
Select the customer’s EV model, enter how far they drive, and SolarPlus will calculate how much energy is needed to recharge the car.
A smart EV charger will use excess solar energy to charge the car, and adjust the charge rate accordingly. For every hour of the year, SolarPlus takes into account the solar output, other loads, whether the car is plugged in ready to charge, and when the charge is complete.
SolarPlus will assess whether there was enough excess solar on a cloudy day to get the car charged, and if not, will calculate how much energy will be required from the grid boost.
Select when the EV charger will be programmed to boost from the grid (eg Off Peak times), and SolarPlus will take into consideration the added cost of this grid boost.
By also specifying what the ‘Before’ case or business as usual case is, SolarPlus can determine the savings from a smart EV charger, and present a compelling case for why the additional upfront cost will reap benefits over time.
Show the benefits of timers or programmable contactors
If your customer has loads like pumps or water heaters which come on at peak times, but can be moved into the day time, or off-peak, then you can assess whether adding a timer or programmable contactor will save them money.
SolarPlus considers the tariff of the before and after scenario, be it Peak, Off-peak, Controlled load, and whether Demand charges are also applied.
You can specify not only the before and after times, but also the load power (useful if you are swapping to a lower power appliance), and how much energy is required by the load in a given day.
Model Smart Contactors like Catch Control which turn on loads when there is enough solar excess
Demonstrate the money saved, and self-consumption increase
Dynamic Hot water heating from excess solar works brilliantly in many cases, but just how much will it save a particular customer, and if they don’t have much solar, will it be worth it? SolarPlus can calculate the energy supplies and demands for a particular client so you can design the optimal solution.
A hot water diverter will use excess solar energy to heat water, and adjust the power rate accordingly. For every hour of the year, SolarPlus takes into account the solar output of new and existing arrays, other loads, whether there is also a battery to be charged, and how much hot water is needed by the home.
SolarPlus will assess whether there was enough excess solar on a cloudy day to meet the hot water needs, and if not, will calculate how much energy will be required from the grid boost.
Select when the unit will be programmed to boost from the grid (eg Off Peak times), and SolarPlus will take into consideration the added cost of this grid boost.
By also specifying what the ‘Before’ case or business as usual case is, including whether there was off-peak controlled load being used, then SolarPlus can determine the exact savings from a hot water diverter, and present a compelling case for why the additional upfront cost will reap benefits over time.
Sell more batteries by showing the full range of possible benefits
Accurately demonstrate how battery storage can lower energy costs through peak shaving, energy arbitrage, and grid export. Customise settings to align with your client’s specific needs, optimising savings and system performance. Build compelling, data-driven proposals that showcase the long-term value of battery integration.
Easily identify when peaks in demand occur. Model the effect of triggering a battery to discharge when loads hit a critical point. Calculate savings on demand charges
Set when the battery will discharge, and when it will charge from the Grid. Calculate the cost of each and the overall savings. Assess the energy throughput on the battery to avoid exceeding warranty conditions.
Set the maximum depth of discharge. Set priorities for the use of solar power, such as charging the battery first, then supplying loads. Control whether the battery will boost the EV charge.
Take advantage of times when there is a premium feed-in-tariff by exporting battery energy to the grid. Set the times and max energy allowances, and specify the premium feed-in-tariff.
SolarPlus’ Smart Energy Simulator helps you create tailored, data-driven proposals that highlight savings from EV charging, load shifting, and hot water diverters. Engage customers with clear insights, address objections confidently, and optimise energy solutions for maximum ROI
